Venue: Sirens, Victoria St, Hobart
Present: Paul Storr, Caroline Evans, Barry Dixon, Martin Haywood, Caroline Dean, Vicki Douglas, Rolande Browne, Miles Jordan, Helen Burnett, Ben Bartl
Apologies: John White, Miranda Howie, Nick McKim

Meeting commenced at 17:00 AEST.

Thanks to Duncan Kerr on his briefing on the workings of the ASIO oversight committee.

The meeting was called in response to the rapid disappearance of civil liberties and the need to organise resistance to this trend.

The attendees were representative of people most likely to be first in the line for civil liberties violations.

A motion that the TCCL reincorporate was carried unanimously - Prop. Paul Storr, 2nd Martin Haywood.

It was agreed that Paul would contact the mainland civil liberties organisations to inform them of our existance, and to contact the local media. As we are all busy people it was decided to do as much as possible over the Internet, and call meetings as and when needed.

Brief discussion papers about our areas of concern to be prepared by members and e-mailed to each other. Miles and Martin can assist with this.

Paul Storr remains President, Barry Dixon as Vice President, Miles Jordan as Treasurer, and Caroline Evans as Secretary. All positions are acting until they are decided upon during the AGM.

Thanks to all for their enthusiasm.

Meeting closed 18:45 AEST.
